OHS GENERAL MEETING

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 10th

A great meeting yesterday!    We had over 60 people attend- a nice mix of members and guests.    We nominated and elected a new president, Russ Talbot.     Still looking for a new Vice President!  We encourage anyone interested to contact the Executive thru the CONTACTS page if you are interested.

We are so pleased to have Russ join the OHS Executive and lead us to a new high!

Jonathan Hogarth - entertained us with his talk of his rise from an eveyday hosta collector to the winner of many top awards!

The Royal Horticultural Society biggest show, Hampton Court.where he won won a top medal – a GOLD – on his very first time showingplus “Best Exhibit” in the Heritage Section. Chelsea Flower Show where he won a Silver-Gilt.
Jonathan’s talk, The British (mini) Invasion, was the story of his journey into hosta growing, selling and showing in England. From one hosta to a thriving business in small and mini hostas, an unusual propagation system and showing in the most prestigious shows in England, we will all experience the journey.  It was very enlightening look into all the work that goes into showing hostas in presitgious shows.
